Privacy

ImageBlur is built so your screenshots never leave your device.

No uploads. Ever.

When you open, drag, or paste an image, we decode it in your browser and hold it in memory. No image bytes, thumbnails, filenames, dimensions, or detected content are transmitted to any server.

No accounts, no cookies for images

Images are never persisted to cookies, localStorage, or any other long-term browser storage. When you close the tab or start over, they're gone.

Face detection runs locally

Optional face detection uses an on-device model that runs inside your browser. Your image never leaves your machine.

Exported images are flattened

When you export, we render a brand new bitmap at the original resolution with the redactions permanently baked in. The original pixels under redactions are not stored anywhere in the exported file, and EXIF metadata from the original image is dropped.
